According to the plan, the airport will have annual capacity of 25.6 million passengers, 0.5 million tons of cargo, and 260,000 flight departures and arrivals upon completion of the expansion in 2015.
Main Construction Objects: a new runway of 3400 meters long and 60 meters wide for F-type planes (A380); an apron of 567, 000 square meters with 67 new parking bays; a terminal of 196,000 square meters and other facilities. The construction takes land of 1,270 acres and a total investment of $1.4 billion (including expenses for estate transfer and relocation of current residents on the land).
Implementation Steps: The airport expansion will be completed in two stages. Stage one, which is currently under construction and will be closed early 2010, is for an international terminal of 96,000 square meters. Stage two is for another domestic terminal and a second runway to be finished around the end of 2011. Upon completion in 2015, the airport will have a capacity of 3.8 million passengers, an airfield apron of 226,600 square meters with additional parking bays, and renovation of the parking plaza and the taxi parking place.
