    The Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport is located at the famous beautiful international tourism city of Hangzhou. Co-funded by the National Civil Aviation Bureau and Zhejiang Provincial Government, the airport is an important trunk line airport of China for scheduled international flights and a first-grade air hub opening to foreign countries. Being put into use for four years (2000-2004), the airport has spared no efforts to explore markets and develop production by taking advantages of good domestic and foreign envionments. Now, it is taking a road of consistent, rapid, harmonious and healthy development. In 2004, our airport has handled 66,000 flights, 6338,000 passengers and 160,000 tons of cargoes, with the handling index ranking among top 10 of the 133 domestic airports and ranking the 3rd in East China.

    Presently, the Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport has opened 126 international, national and regional airlines, reaching 44 mainland cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Xi’an, Chengdu, Kuanming and Shenyang as well as other regions in Hong Kong and Macao. It also has direct flights to Tokyo and Osaka of Japan, Seoul of South Korea, Bangkok of Thailand and Singapore. The year 2004 has also seen the opening of other scheduled international flights from Hangzhou to Seoul of South Korea, Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia, Dubai of AUE and Amsterdam of Dutch. At present, the airport handles as many as 1300 flights every week with 190 flights landing and taking off every day, among which 95 are international and regional flights. The passengers taking international and regional flights in 2004 reach 707,000, with a 83.9% increase compared to that of 2003. All these prove that the “International Year” promoted by the airport company at the beginning of the year has produced positive results.
